Coming from Cardiff means I have a lot of links with the city and often work with businesses based across South Wales.
Cardiff Bay is one of my favourite locations for outside photography and much of the creative architecture has caught my attention.
I work across the city producing high quality images for hotels, restaurants, businesses, industrial sites and retail spaces, working with advertising agencies and PR companies.
I am one of few Cardiff photographers working with food in fine dining, bespoke restaurants, as well as mid range gastro pubs, bistros, and even cafes. Food photography requires very different techniques that general photographers are often unaware of. I use portable lighting and equipment to set up a studio at your premises, and work with the chefs to produce the best images possible. I can also work on sets, dishes and ingredients in a small studio environment as needed, or use a larger Cardiff based studio with kitchens for a full shoot.
A recent shoot was commissioned for the exterior of the Millennium Plaza, next to the Principality Stadium in the centre of Cardiff on the banks of the River Taff. A sample image is below showing the Stadium and the Plaza caught in the warm evening light. More photos are on the blog. The commission was to specifically capture the Millennium Plaza on a match day with the crowds as they entered the stadium.
Caerphilly is a short distance from Cardiff to the north and famous for its castle. A new school has been built at St Ilan not far from the castle and the centre of town. There are 3 interlinked phases which include the new build and the original refurbished 1930’s building. I was commissioned by Caerphilly County Borough Council to produce professional marketing photography of the interiors, exteriors, and some aerial photographs of the overall site. A specialist architectural lens on a 50mpx Canon 5DSR provided the ideal solution to capture the large interior spaces with high resolution and clarity. An example from the new build interior is below, and there is more in the blog.
